Create Virtual Server in Virtualmin

How They Differ:

  • Sub-server vs. Alias: An alias just points another domain name (e.g., example.net) to the same website content and users as the parent (example.com). A sub-server hosts independent content and users.
  • Sub-server vs. cPanel Subdomain: Unlike traditional hosting panels, Virtualmin treats subdomains (like blog.example.com) as separate virtual servers if you want them managed independently, rather than just a folder structure.

Creation Process:

  1. Go to Create Virtual Server in Virtualmin.
  2. Select the parent domain from the dropdown.
  3. Choose the Sub-server option.
  4. Enter the subdomain name (e.g., blog.example.com) as the domain.
  5. Set up its admin, password, and other settings as you would for any new serve
